Tour of China 1, Opening Ceremonies

Wow, these folks know how to put on an opening ceremony! There must have been two dozen distinguished officials present to give speeches. Sponsors, federation officials, and the like put on quite the show. It felt like a rock concert... except that most people (including the guy to my left) have heard these sorts of inspiring rah rah rallies before so they had trouble stifling a few yawns. But even so, the race couldn't happen without volunteers, staff, and sponsor monies. So we all watched and listened and clapped. Racing starts tomorrow!

Sponsor awards were given out.

There was singing....

...and dancing.

All the team directors were introduced.

And then the night was over.
